2.4 How to build social skills
2.4.1 Introduction

Social development is as important as cognitive development if we are aiming for a constructive schooling experience. Pre-school represents an incipient social development stage, where basic ground rules are set in order to obtain successful schooling activities. Adult social behaviour is reflected by the degree of success in which the rules of social communication, the need to understand different types of social prototypes and their need for a personalised response are implemented from an early age.

There is no universal strategy to support social development due to the social variety and specificity of every child. There are various methods which can be utilised to support social development, but one must first of all know his own child in order to know which direction and methods to follow.
