1.4.3 Teaching tips for inclusion

Preparing tomorrow's adults To make sure that the kindergarten meets the environmental mission, it must take into account the following requirements:

  • responds to the needs, rights and responsibilities of children and employees;
  • is a friendly, open, suitably decorated environment;
  • involves understanding and accepting differences between children;
  • is based on democracy and human solidarity on teamwork;
  • is fair;
  • provide adequate responses to various educational situations;
  • show flexibility and adaptation to change;
  • learns the acceptance and integration of all children;
  • respect the skills, interests, abilities, disabilities, characteristics of each.

These are the objectives of inclusion that involve the development and implementation of educational strategies to promote awareness and the formation of children in behavior toward tolerance and non-discrimination, acceptance of children with ESCs: children with disabilities, gifted children, children of different ethnicities, children with chronic diseases , children with poor socio-economic status, etc. Inclusive education is correlated with the special needs of children with various disabilities or special educational needs and the achievement of specific progress. If they are not respected, expressed and encouraged to develop, the differences between children in a group cause problems (eg aggression, violence, neglect, etc.). Consequently, inclusion calls for attention to differences between children, but also to school adaptation to these differences. Inclusion emphasizes the need for the school to change its principles of action and ways of addressing children's needs.

Valorizing an inclusive environment is useful for all children if educators improve practices of organizing activities and use diversity in class as a resource and as a fair learning opportunity if they offer different instructions and for this teachers can act as follows:

  • use attractive educational resources;
  • prepare training packages tailored to each child;
  • individualize learning and play;
  • respect the learning styles;
  • delegate responsibilities;
  • use children's experiences;
  • propose teamwork;
  • Encourage children to express their opinions, arguments, be empathetic, have flexibility.

Following these steps, the inclusive environment is beneficial for all those responsible for children's education, but especially for children. For example, education teaches "socialization" through communication and interaction with other colleagues. Children connect friends through these contacts, find out about interests and preferences for certain activities (for example, some draw, paint, others begin to play an instrument, others are "storytellers", others like to create collages, invent poems, and others are "champions" of practicing a sport or like to observe nature, etc.) are well known, and good relationships, well-being among them, are a facilitating condition for learning and development.
