Tale summary
Butu was a brave soldier who fell in love with the voivode's daughter, Ana. Sadly, however, he fell at the end of the swords of his enemies, leaving Ana utterly grief-stricken. After a while, her dad - the voivode - suggested and then forced Ana to get married again with a local noble. Undeterred, Ana had a powerful witch raise her lover from the dead, in order to scare her future husband. Thus, Butu, in his undead form, came and took Ana with him. As they were riding a flying, undead horse over the Ceahlău mountains at the crack of dawn, Butu's powers were lost, and they all fell, turning into a nowadays famous rock formation, called Turnul lui Butu (Butu's Tower).
