Tale summary
The legend says that, once upon a time, there were three giants who lived on what is known today as Retezat mountain. They were immense and also very fierce, and they instilled fear in every villager nearby. They are also said to have been responsible for creating several land forms, including a few lakes and valleys. Among their alleged works is the peak of the Retezat mountain itself, said to have been cut of by one of the giants' axes, during a fierce fight between the three fiends.
