Tale summary
The story is about Panaghia, a beautiful girl, so beautiful that every young man in her village fell for her. The town council decided to send her away, to the top of the mountain. However, even the sun himself fell for her when he saw her there, and he wanted to remain above that mountain, forever watching her. God saw what was happening and, even if He is always kind to those who love each other, decided that the things established when the world was created shall not be changed, and He turned her into stone, a stone called today Stânca Panaghiei (Panaghia's Rock).
