Tale summary
The story of Pietrele Doamnei (Queen's Rocks) says that, once upon a time, there was a very rich king who was married to a beautiful queen. His fortune and fame attracted the envy of many, among them the Devil itself. The queen knew about the danger that their enemies could have represented, but the king didn't care. However, he decided to listen to his wife and hid the treasure behind some rocks, in a cave. The Devil would not forfeit the fortune so easily, though, so he started a huge storm, aiming to strike the rocks with a lightning. The rocks collapsed on the queen and the Devil, however, and they both perished. Saddened by the loss, the king named the place Pietrele Doamnei, in the loving memory of his wife.
