Tale summary
The story depicts the troubled life of its eponymous character, who was a very strong and courageous giant. His enormous appetite even made its way into commonly used sayings. His abilities were praised by his countrymen, for he was their key advantage during war with other countries. That was until modern weapons were invented, and the giant, realising that now any man, no matter how worthless, could end his days, decided to do it himself. Thus, he buried himself deep under ground, along a plough and two oxen.
