Tale summary
The legend of the city of Iasi says that a shepherd named Dediu was summoned by the voivode. Since the shepherd was unwilling to obey the command, the voivode himself went to the sheepfold and ordered him to get outside (”Ieși!”). This order later became the city's name - Iași. The legend also says that Dediu proved to be much smarter than the voivode had thought, and the latter even insisted on the shepherd becoming his brother-in-law.
