Una gallina roja encuentra algunas semillas en el suelo y decide plantarlas, para posteriormente hacer pan. Para cada uno de los pasos necesarios para hacer el pan, pide ayuda a los otros animales de la granja, pero todos se niegan. Sin ninguna ayuda, la gallina termina de hornear el pan y se lo come ella sola.
