Con su pincel mágico, una niña puede pintar cazuelas llenas de pescado y ostras para alimentar a la gente hambrienta de su pueblo, pero cuando el malvado emperador oye hablar de su don, le ordena que pinte oro para él en vez de comida para el pueblo. Ella está decidida a mantener su promesa de pintar sólo para los pobres, pero ¿cómo puede competir con el poderoso emperador?
