Tale summary
Baba Dochia is said to once have been an unpleasant old woman, who disliked her daughter-in-law, so she sent her to wash a black ball of wool until it would turn white. Miraculously, however, the girl managed to do as demanded (with the help of Jesus Christ), determining the old woman to go up the mountains with her sheep, thinking it was spring. When a blizzard started, however, the old woman was caught unprepared and she turned into stone, along with her sheep.
