Tale summary
The story of Babele, a famous rock formation in the Romanian mountains, has at its center a female character who was very beautiful and kind. This girl was the love interest of many princes, and one of the latter even started a war to kidnap the girl. She asked a witch to turn her into an old woman, to escape her fate, and left for the mountains with her sheep. As the weather was getting warmer, she gradually dropped her winter coats, only to be frozen to stone when a cold wind started blowing after nine days of nice weather.
