This story happened in one yard garden of Vilijampolė own house, near the Nemunas river, where grandpa Jonas and grandma Ona lived. The grandparents had a garden near their house. Grandpa John planted a turnip in the spring. Turnip grew very large. Once, grandfather John came to the garden to root out the turnip.He catches the turnip but does not root it. Called grandma Ona for help. The grandmother got stuck tothe grandpa, the grandpa got into the turnip - but still they could not root it out.Grandma Ona called the girl for help. Still they could not root it out. Called the puppy and then the kitten and the mouse and only when the mouse got stuck to the kitten, the kitten to the puppy, the puppy to the girl, the girl to the grandma, the grandma to the grandpa, the grandpa to the turnip , everyone beamed and rooted it out. Together they brought the turnip home, peeled it, washed it, boiled it and ate it deliciously.
