Tale summary
One summer day a young duck hatched ducklings in its nest, under the burdock. One duckling came out much later and was very ugly. The next day the duck took kids to the farmyard to introduce to the inhabitants, but everyone laughed from the ugly duckling and pushed him away. Unable to endure bullying, the ugly duckling escaped from the yard, but had to endure hunger, cold and loneliness on his difficult journey to the unknown. Living alone in the wood hollow on the shore of a small pond the duck never saw himself in the daylight. When in the autumn an unlucky lonely duckling felt in a flock of proud and graceful birds, unleashed by loneliness, he was astonished to see his image in the water, becoming a white young swan over the summer. The other swans welcomed him into their squad and all of them flew to the warm lands for winter.
