In olden days there was a grandfather and a grandmother. They had twelve sons and three daughters. The sisters went swimming. After bathing, the youngest daughter found a snake in her shirt that smiled at him and the grass-snake proposed to her. The parents din not want to let their daughter marry the snake but Egle had given her consent already. They celebrated a happy wedding and settled in the snake's palace, which was in the sea. They had three sons and a daughter. The eldest son, nine years later, asked his mother to show her hometown. Egle applied for permission to snake, but he did not want to let her go and devoted three jobs: to spin the flax tuft, to wear fully the shoes and to bake a cake, after all, she would not go to a guest without a meal. An old sorceress helped Egle to do all the work. Then Egle said goodbye to her husband and went to her homeland. The snake told her t to come back nine days later and shout: Žilvine, Žilvinėli! If you are alive - milk foam, If dead, blood foam. The children was told not to tell anyone this secret. When Egle returned to her homeland, everyone was very happy and happy.
