Tale summary
Russian folktale “The Turnip” was read by Goda’s mother Jurgita. This fairy tale was selected by our group children. Fairy tale was told without intonation, but children liked it well. Everyday children were illustration a fairy tale characters by using different techniques: drawing with gouache, watercolour and pencils. By the end of the week, all characters were joined in one big drawing and were discussed. A Turnip has grew very big, so an old man couldn’t root it out by himself, but he had a friendly family, which helped him out: grandmother, grandaugher, dog, cat and mouse. Children concluded that it is neccesary to help others, when they are facing difficulties. It is important to be friendly with others, as together you can achieve anything. A friendship is powerful. Let’s always be friends. After having discusion of a fairy tale we sang a song “A friend”.
