Tale summary
Salduve was a beautiful daughter of the Duke. She loved a fisherman, a simple boy. When the Duke learned this, he became angry and shut the Salduve in the castle tower. But they disregarded the prohibitions and sent love signs to each other. The duke decided to punish the fisherman, pulled his bow and the groom right in the chest. Salduve saw the death of her lover, the curse burst out of her lips and the Thunder thundered, striking the wooden castle with lightning and burning it. The duke rushed to find his daughter in the fire, but found only an amber necklace from her neck. The Duke shouted: Salduve! Salduve! Now this mound is called Salduve.
